Discover the unique essence of dry land influence at Perdeberg Cellar, located at the foothills of the Paardeberg Mountain in Paarl, esteemed as one of the prime wine-growing regions in the Cape. Perdeberg stands out for its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, exemplified by its predominant use of unirrigated vineyards, termed dry land vines. Despite challenging growing conditions, these vines produce small berries with concentrated flavor and color, yielding exceptional wines.
Established in 1941 by visionary wine farmer Jan Rossouw, Perdeberg derives its name from the Cape Mountain zebras that once roamed the Paardeberg area. Today, the winery remains dedicated to preserving the region's natural beauty and wildlife diversity. With vineyards spanning over 3000 hectares across Paarl and Swartland, Perdeberg benefits from diverse microclimates and soil types, enabling the production of wines with distinct qualities and character.
Committed to sustainability, Perdeberg implements eco-friendly practices throughout its operations, including intensive vineyard management and sustainable winemaking techniques. Moreover, the winery actively contributes to wildlife conservation efforts and anti-poaching initiatives, demonstrating its dedication to being environmentally responsible and socially conscious.
From vineyard to bottle, Perdeberg's wines are crafted with precision and care, combining art, intuition, and science to showcase the best of the region's terroir.
